Dr. Joe Warne is becoming an outspoken activist for improving research practices in sports science, biomechanics, and physiology, formerly specializing in the biomechanics of running and the role of footwear. With a wealth of hands-on experience in Strength and Conditioning, Dr. Warne has worked with elite athletes and teams, also serving as a high-performance coach and sports science consultant. Holding a PhD, his original research area positioned him as a recognised expert on how footwear affects athletic performance and injury prevention. He has published extensively on these topics and delivered keynote addresses at major international conferences. Currently, Dr. Warne is a lecturer at Technological University Dublin, where he teaches research methods and sports science. Renowned for his rigorous, critical approach to research integrity, he now directs the Sports Science Replication Centre. Joe and the team have been working in this area for 5 years, and already made important contributions to understanding our research.
